The mission of TMM is to break the cycle of poverty in the lives of at-risk people through a
holistic ministry that demonstrates love and facilitates reconciliation through the body of
To address these needs, TMM purchased and facilitated the development of a 120-acre farm; a Christian school, Genesis One Christian School; the first Head Start program in the county; a recreation center; a thrift store; a law office; a health center; low-income housing; and elderly housing. TMM also developed and operated the Pastors Development Ministry, through which over 3,000 pastors were trained in the tristate area between 1985 and 1995; and Christian Youth Leadership Development. Former and current leaders of Voice of Calvary (Jackson, MS) and The Mendenhall Ministries (including Dr. Weary and Dr. Holloway) were products of TMM’s Christian Youth Leadership Development Program.
TMM programs not only provided services to the local residents of south-central Mississippi
counties, but also served as models for other communities to learn from. Through its volunteer ministry, at its peak, over 700 individuals representing over 25 organizations, were exposed to Christian community development annually. Many of these individuals returned to their communities and replicated what they saw and learn at TMM. Organizations that patterned their ministry after TMM include, but not limited to: Lawndale Community Church Ministry, Chicago, IL; Voice of Hope Ministries, Dallas, TX; Emerald City Outreach Ministries, Seattle WA; Neighborhood Ministries, Denver, CO; Mt. Olive Ministries, Mt. Olive, MS; Alfa & Omega Christian Academy, Prentiss, MS; New Foundation, Terry, MS.
